UTFSCOE Scientists Receive Grants from the United States Department of Agriculture

KNOXVILLE, August 14, 2003 —

Dr. Jochen Weiss of the Department of Food Science & Technology is the principal investigator of a $300,000 grant funded by USDA entitled "Antimicrobial Delivery Systems to Improve Food Safety".

Dr. Bill Morris of the Department of Food Science & Technology is the principal investigator of a $430,000 grant funded by USDA entitled "A Multi-Faceted Approach to Improve Food Safety for Child Care Providers".

All of these grants resulted from seed grant funding by the UT Food Safety Center of Excellence.
