Dr. Ann Draughon elected as the Center Director of the NAFSS Center for Microbial Physiology and Ecology.

KNOXVILLE, January 08, 2004 —

Dr. Ann Draughon, Professor, Dept. of Food Science and Technology; and Co-Director, The Food Safety Center of Excellence at the University of Tennessee, has been elected as the Center Director of the NAFSS (National Alliance for Food Safety and Security) Center for Microbial Physiology and Ecology.

The news release is given below:

Through a majority vote of the center members, Dr. Ann Draughon of the University of Tennessee has been elected to serve as the Center Director for the National Alliance for Food Safety and Security Center for Microbial Physiology and Ecology.

On behalf of the Executive Committee I would like to congratulate Dr. Draughon on her election to this position. The next year promises to bring new and exciting opportunities for the Alliance of which the centers will play a large part.
