RESEARCH AREA:

Research is directed toward improving microbiological safety of food products by developing methodology for destroying bacterial and fungal pathogens, use of herbal extracts, antimicrobial additives and innovative processing techniques to prevent or reduce microbial growth in foods. Recent research is focused on the development of methodology and epidemiology of foodborne pathogens in on-farm environments and in food processing environmental samples and on food irradiation.
