RESEARCH
AREA:
Research is
directed toward improving microbiological safety of food products
by developing methodology for destroying bacterial and fungal
pathogens, use of herbal extracts, antimicrobial additives and
innovative processing techniques to prevent or reduce microbial
growth in foods. Recent research is focused on the development
of methodology and epidemiology of foodborne pathogens in on-farm
environments and in food processing environmental samples and
on food irradiation.
