Graduate Student Wins National Graduate Student Research Competition

Ms. Kimberly Lamar recently placed 1st in the graduate research poster paper competition at the annual meeting of the International Association for Food Protection held in San Diego, CA on June 28-July 4, 2002. Her research paper which is based on her doctoral dissertation was titled "Geographic Information System (GIS) and Listeria isolates recovered from dairy cows, calves and farm environments. Abstract #PO70." Kim's doctoral advisor is Dr. Ann Draughon. Kim is a student in Food Science and Technology and will graduate with her doctorate in December 2002. She hopes to work for CDC or teach and conduct research at a university. Kim's home town is Memphis, TN.
