1990-present : Human Health Risk Assessment Matrix Staff for AIMTECH (HAZWRAP) Projects, TARA-ORNL and Advanced Information Management Technologies, Oak Ridge, TN. Instructor/trainer and workshop coordinator for Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry Health Assessment training courses

Publications:

7 environmental documents including monitoring plans, risk assessments, proposed plans and RODs, one radiation policy document, 15 presentations or training sessions, 3 web pages, 5 pesticide toxicology reviews, 7 pesticide residue chemistry reviews, and more than 50 pesticide product chemistry reviews. Significant pesticides include dichloromid, dithianon, esfenvalerate, dimethomorph, clethodim, cypemethrin, dicamba, and quizalofop.

Synergistic Activities:

Served as risk assessment expert for HAZWRAP/ Villahermosa Mexico, workshop on the development of risk-based methods for environmental activities for PEMEX governmental oil monopoly.

Development of training materials and performance of training in conducting health assessments for ATSDR. Training required by more than 20 cooperative agreement states and new ATSDR health assessment personnel. Participated in development of ATSDR Public Health Assessment Guidance Manual. This has been recently translated into Spanish and is used in several countries.

Researcher and author for three of the DOE Center for Risk Excellence "Risk Tools" Web pages.

End Note:

Dr. Brothers has more than 11 years of experience in the application of human health risk assessment and toxicology providing technical expertise for the evaluation of pesticide chemical and toxicology studies and data. Significant activities include determination of toxicological endpoints, and evaluation of potential impacts to human exposure to pesticides and herbicides through the food chain from residue chemistry study and tolerance evaluations. Sponsoring agencies include the Departments of Defense and Energy, Environmental Protection Agency and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. She has effectively communicated human health risks to diverse stakeholders including regulators, scientific advisory boards, and the lay public in the United States and Mexico including the development and conduct of training and strategic planning for environmental health programs.
